We were first introduced to the Supascoota range of mobility scooters in 2015 and have seen the range grow and develop first hand. These mobility scooters are truly remarkable in terms of performance and reliability. The range itself is extensive and there is a model to cover most people’s needs.
They are made by an independent manufacturer in Taiwan, SupaMobility, who have developed and manufactured every important component on the scooter themselves. This way they have been able to ensure that the components used are of the highest quality. The result is exceptional reliability.
Supascoota
These Supascootas were the first lightweight folding scooters we had the pleasure of selling. They were also the first to offer lithium batteries as an alternative to the heavier sealed lead acid batteries. When a product survives the test of time then you know are on to a winner. These first Supascoota designs are still made and sold today, although now with some modern day features, but basically the same mobility scooter. The Supascoota Sprint, Supascoota Sport and Supascoota Sport XL are the three designs that began the modern day range. The Supascoota Spartan was then introduced with the largest weight capacity available, 32 stone, anywhere on a fold down mobility scooter.
What makes these initial Supascoota mobility scooters different, more reliable and better performers, than your average mobility scooter?
The stand out reason is that they have two motors on the rear axle as opposed to the single motor you will find on pretty well every other mobility scooter. This gives them extra torque evenly spread across the rear of the scooter. Rougher and undulating terrain becomes no problem and they power up inclines with little fuss. Take a look at this video made by the UK importers Cavendish. The Supascoota is the Sport XL. He’s not exactly popping along on a smooth pavement!
The tubular design means weight is reduced significantly from the chassis. The seat, with suspension, simply slips off and folds. The motors at the rear can easily come off for further weight reduction if needed. The handlebar folds down easily and neatly clips to the frame. It really is very simple to fold them down for transportation. They can then be put is the smallest of car boots for transporting. Supalite
Peoples needs change and manufacturers respond to demand. The need for ever lighter mobility equipment has resulted in the SupaScoota Supalite range being developed. Not just light but Supalite!
The range of Supalite scooters are developed from the extra reliable Supascoota range using the same motor and controller technology. The frame is made of strong light aluminium combined with a single motor. This makes the Supalite and Microlite unbelievably easy to lift for a mobility scooter that has all the capabilities of much larger scooters. They fold the same as the Supascoota and the seat just slips off and folds. A special mention needs to go to the Microlite, which has reduced features compared to the Supalite and has been built for extreme lightness as the priority. It performs best on smooth flat surfaces.

- Is there a colour choice? Each model is available in it’s own unique colour.
- What is the warranty length? It is now 2 years as of April 2023.
- Are spare parts easily available? Life and Mobility Solutions carry the full range of parts should your Supascoota need anything. We also carry consumables such as tyres, inner tubes, batteries and chargers.
- Do the scooters need servicing? Yes, ideally once a year for a scooter that is used regularly.
- What is the maximum speed? 4 mph the UK legal limit for pavement mobility scooters.
- Can the speed be limited? Yes the scooters have a hi/lo switch allowing the speed to be limited to 2mph or 4mph.
- How does the brake work? The brake is automatic and will engage immediately you release the throttle lever.
- Can you push the scooter? Yes, but only when the freewheel system has been engaged.
- I see the lead acid battery price option is cheaper, why? Different technology has different pricing, the lithium battery is newer technology, currently these cost more. Lithium charges quicker, is lighter to lift, produces more power than the lead acid equivalent and is easier to look after.
- Can I take my Supascoota on a plane? Yes. All Supalite and Microlite models have a lithium battery that is flight friendly as standard. The Supascoota models have a flight friendly option available. The battery can be specified when buying the scooter for no extra charge or bought separately for a charge. Ask in our showrooms.
- How do I charge the battery? Simply charge it each time you have used your scooter. Ideally put it on charge over night and take it off in the morning. There is no need to leave it on charge when you are not using it. This will only reduce the life of your charger quicker than needed. You can’t overcharge the battery, it will switch to maintenance mode once the battery is fully charged.
- What do I do if I’m not using my scooter? Keep the battery topped up once every week or so if it is lead acid. Every couple of weeks if it is lithium.
